At this point I think we’ve all heard the 90’s are back, at least when it comes to fashion! There’s lots of haters out there on this trend, but I for one am all for it. I’m gunna pump up my jock jams and make this trend mint! Disclaimer: I literally used to sit up on the phone with one of my best friends and we would play jock jams to each other over the phone lol.
I think the reason I’m so into this trend is because I actually wore these things in the 90’s!! Granted I was young, but I’ve always loved clothes and fashion!! I thought it would be fun if I recreated some old looks to make them more 2021.
Trend #1: 90’s lace and sheer tops
Ok who doesn’t envision this immediately?!

Sheer button up shirts that you could layer over a tank are really coolio right now. You can literally find them anywhere, but this is the one I want😍 https://www.revolve.com/only-hearts-mesh-cardigan/dp/ONLY-WI984/ I’m waiting for a sale!! Lace is the other thing I see a lot of, nothing crazy definitely more subtle, but I’ve even been seeing babydoll lace tops!!! Remember babydoll shirts? I remember thinking in 4th grade wearing mine I was so cool ( if you know me, I literally remember every outfit I wear, I think I’m a savant). Well here’s my first picture that I’m recreating to make more 2021! Tell me what you think!

Trend #2: Baggy Baggy Everywhere
This goes for oversized tops, blazers, sweatshirts, pants, anything and everything!! For me, pairing the baggy piece with something that is more fitted looks best. However, I can’t get on board with the bra tops under blazers, that one I’ll save for the 20 year olds! Oversized blazers with regular tops though is the easiest way to try this trend and ANY age/body shape can do it! Baggy shorts and a tucked in shirt is another great way to wear this trend, throw on a belt and it’s 1994! This is my second recreation of me from the 90’s and me now!

Trend #3: Patchwork
Omg when I read this was back I was like this trend is too legit to quit!! I immediately remembered my 5th grade first day of school outfit. I would wear this now!!!! That shirt underneath was lace and I have my work boots on 👍I’m sad I don’t actually own anything with patchwork, but I like this Patchwork dress
I also like this blouse: https://www.asos.com/us/river-island/river-island-chiffon-patchwork-print-shirt-in-black/prd/21399025

Trend #4: Denim Vests
Oh yeah this is what I want what I really really want!!! I personally have been rocking a denim vest for the past few years, because I think they add dimension to a bodysuit or dress and really are just cool. They come in all sizes and silhouettes! I’m feeling this one : https://amzn.to/3fKqzrG (affiliate link)

Trend #5: Where what makes you feel good
In the 90’s , fashion was more laid back and gave that effortless vibe. I encourage everyone to try one of these trends(again), but stay true to your own style because if it makes you happppyyyy it can’t be that bad!!
How many 90’s references did you find? Lol This post was way too much fun!! Let me know what 90’s trends you’re feeling!✌🏻
I loved looking at all the then & now pictures!! I like the patchwork dress and the denim vest best! great job as always!
Holy flashback with the pictures. We definitely had some of the better clothing options growing up.
